Product description: SMD Resistor MMP/MMQ - metal foil
Long-term stable metal foil SMD resistors for demanding operating conditions
The SMD resistors of the MMP/MMQ series are designed both for automated assembly and for use in precise, long-life circuits. Metal foil technology, encapsulated housing and preformed, angled wire leads work together to keep the resistance value stable over temperature changes and over the entire service life, while at the same time reducing mechanical stress on solder joints and the PCB. This makes MMP/MMQ particularly suitable for environments where thermal and mechanical loads push standard chip resistors to their limits.
With a resistance range from 30 Ω to 60 kΩ, the series covers both low-ohmic applications such as current sensing or attenuation networks and high-ohmic precision voltage dividers. Resistance tolerances from ±0.05% with optional versions down to ±0.01% enable finely tuned measurement and reference circuits without the need for complex trimming. In combination with temperature coefficients from ±5 ppm/°C – and optional versions down to ±1 ppm/°C in defined resistance ranges – circuits with very low temperature drift can be realised.
Rated power levels of 0.1 W (MMP) and 0.125 W (MMQ) at 125 °C, together with the extended operating temperature range from −65 °C to +175 °C, make these series particularly suitable for applications where conventional chip resistors reach their limits. Typical examples include measurement and signal-conditioning electronics close to hot components or environments with large temperature cycles. Load, temperature and shock tests as specified in the datasheet underline the suitability of the MMP/MMQ series for demanding operating conditions.
