Compact kit encoder for precise position measurement

The SPTSM series is a versatile, incremental optical kit encoder that has been specially developed for installation in confined spaces. With a housing diameter of just 30 mm and an installation depth of only 17 mm, it is ideal for applications where space is limited.

Thanks to its non-contact measurement method, the encoder is virtually wear-free and has a long lifetime. An optional through-hole in the housing cover allows the use of longer shafts if required.

Signals are transmitted via TTL outputs, which offer different advantages depending on the application:

TTL enables simple integration into control systems.
The electrical connection is made via contact pins or a lockable plug connection, depending on requirements. The maximum speed is up to 100 rpm, whereby 800 rpm is possible for short periods. The usable number of pulses is limited by the cut-off frequency of 100 kHz.

Options:

• Number of pulses: 50, 96, 100, 200, 256, 360, 400, 500, 512, 1000, 1024 pulses/rev (on request up to max. 5000 pulses/rev)
• Shaft diameter: 4 mm, 5 mm, 6 mm, 6.35 mm or 8 mm
• Housing cover with or without through-hole
• Output electronics: TTL
• Electrical connection: Contact pins or 5-pin lockable plug connection
