Product description: Hall-effect absolute encoder MBA
Versatile, robust and compact absolute rotary encoder
The MBA is a Hall-effect absolute encoder with a 360° measuring range that is characterised by its extremely compact design and high precision. With a resolution of 12 bits, it offers precise angle measurement. The choice between sleeve bearings (with different torques) or ball bearings enables optimum adaptation to different operating conditions.
The version with medium torque (< 0.35 Ncm) are intended for manual input applications. The versions with low torque (< 0.2 Ncm) and with ball bearing (< 0.035 Ncm) have lower torque and are designed for low/high speed applications.
Thanks to the integrated connector, the cable can be easily disconnected from the evaluation unit, which simplifies installation and maintenance. Its latching property prevents unwanted disconnection during installation and usage. The encoder is designed for operation with 5 VDC and supplies either an analogue output signal (0 to 5 V) or a PWM signal.
PWM offers the advantage of interference-resistant signal transmission over longer distances and can be integrated directly into digital control systems, making it ideal for applications with microcontrollers or PLCs.
With its robust shaft made of stainless steel, the MBA is ideally suited for industrial use. It impresses with a long lifetime and an operating temperature range of -40°C to +125°C.
