Product description: Load cell - pancake KMC180
Compact overall height and large bearing surface for compressive forces up to 300 kN
The KMC180 series force transducers are pancake load cells, also known as “pancakes” or “compression disks”. They are designed for compressive forces up to 300 kN and feature a large bearing surface that ensures uniform force distribution.
With an overall height of 53 mm, the KMC180 remains comparatively compact despite its high rated force, offering advantages over many standard solutions in this force class, which are typically much taller. Force is introduced via a central through hole and is suitable for force introduction bolts with a diameter of 30 mm.
The nickel-plated steel measuring element is corrosion-protected and equipped with a full Wheatstone strain gauge bridge. Linearity, hysteresis and repeatability are each ±0.03% of full scale. Each KMC180 is supplied as standard with a test report confirming the accuracy of the measurement results.
With protection class IP66, the KMC180 is reliably protected against dust and water jets. Typical applications include presses, test rigs, vehicle scales, large tank scales, and other industrial measurement tasks involving high compressive forces.
Compared to many standard pancake load cells, the KMC180 stands out through its combination of robust construction, large bearing surface, high precision, and low-profile design.
For series production, additional customer-specific modifications are possible, for example modified bore diameters for mounting or force introduction, additional counterbores for the mounting holes, customized cables, or various connector options.
