Aluminium enclosure for Eurocards with 100 mm width and variable heights and lengths

The small aluminium enclosures of the “EUKAP FS” series are designed for Eurocards with a width of 100 mm and a maximum PCB thickness of 1.8 mm. They are available in six different profile heights with internal heights from 18 to 42 mm and an external width of 105 mm. This allows Eurocards with different component heights to be accommodated within the same enclosure design.

Additional cooling fins are integrated inside the profile. These increase the effective surface area and support heat dissipation from the installed electronics. Especially for assemblies in continuous operation, this enables more stable temperature behaviour.

The enclosures are available in lengths of 80, 100, 120, 160, 200 and 220 mm. In addition, customer-specific lengths up to 1,000 mm can be realized if required. This means that both short electronic modules and longer assemblies in Eurocard format can be implemented within the same series.

Inside, the profiles have PCB guides for a 100 mm wide board. Depending on the profile, several slots (from 2 to 8) are available so that the Eurocard can be positioned in the appropriate slot in the enclosure, depending on component height and layout. This makes the EUKAP FS series particularly suitable for compact measurement, control and interface assemblies in Eurocard format.

The enclosures are supplied as a kit and consist of two aluminium profiles and two end plates, including the appropriate countersunk screws. The profiles and end plates are made of aluminium and are available either in natural anodized aluminium or black anodized aluminium. This provides a corrosion-protected, robust and visually high-quality surface.

Typical applications for the EUKAP FS series include electronic modules in Eurocard format, compact evaluation and control units, interface and communication modules, and other applications where a 100 mm Eurocard is to be housed in a slim, robust aluminium enclosure.
