Product description: SMD Resistor RW - metal foil
Precise metal foil SMD resistor for long-term stable measurement and reference circuits
The SMD resistor of the RW series is designed for applications where absolute accuracy and reproducible measured values are the main focus. The metal foil technology enables very low tolerances from 0.01% and temperature coefficients from 2 ppm/K – values that are typically only achieved by specially optimized precision SMD resistors. Together with the specified long-term stability of ΔR ≤ 0.005% after 2,000 hours underrated load, the set resistance value remains practically unchanged even over long operating times.
Thanks to the available chip sizes 0603, 0805 and 1206, the RW can be easily integrated into standard layouts. The rated power from 0.1 W to 0.3 W covers typical precision circuits – from measurement amplifiers and precision reference dividers to high-accuracy analog front ends. The resistance range from 5 Ω to 30 kΩ is designed so that both low-ohmic current measurements and sensitive voltage dividers with high input impedance can be implemented.
Compared to standard thin-film or thick-film SMD resistors, the metal foil construction offers significantly lower drift and better control of temperature and load changes. This makes the RW a very good choice for applications where calibration effort and recalibration over the service life should be minimized – for example in precise measuring instruments, reference sources, industrial control systems or demanding test and medical equipment.
