The MSL38 range of displacement sensors are used in industrial applications where a robust linear transducer with long life and high accuracy is required in lengths from 100 to 2000 mm.
In the MSL38 series of displacement sensors, the mechanical detection of linear movement is achieved by means of a slider cursor. By eliminating the push rod, the displacement sensor can be integrated in a space-saving manner. To compensate for vertical and horizontal misalignment, the cursor carriage is designed with a link ball coupling. The precise guidance of the cursor allows high adjustment speeds. The displacement sensor is mounted overhead with clamps. The robust aluminium housing allows measurement distances from 100 mm to 2000 mm in industrial environments.
Potentiometric displacement measurement is performed using a high-resolution conductive plastic resistive element. The encoder has a very long life and high accuracy due to its good linearity. As the potentiometric measuring principle provides absolute values and requires no electronic conversion, the position feedback signal is true power on without delay, temperature stable and robust against EMC influences.
